What will the future hold for the San Francisco skyline and quality of urban life?

An recent article in the San Francisco Chronicle focused on recent plans to add several super tall high rises. These planners also want to make street life more appealing in these areas, with more plazas, public transit and wider sidewalks.

The downside is that such tall buildings cause more wind tunnels and block the sun out of downtown.
