San Francisco Home Prices Rising

As of December 2009, the San Francisco Association of Realtors has reported that the median price for a single family home in San Francisco has risen for the 3rd month in a row to $755,608. They say this is probably due to less foreclosures and more sales in the upper end of the market.

The available inventory is down to 90 days from nearly 170 days a year ago. This in itself can cause prices to rise. If the banks release significantly more inventory and more foreclosures hit the market, this could reverse the trend.
