San Diego has one of the nicest climates in the country, which is a big reason why people people want to live here. It's a large city, with around 1,270,000 residents. Prices As of March 2010, the median home sales price according to Zillow is $366,000 and $300,000 according to Cyberhomes. Median household income is around $79,000. Median property tax for those with mortgages is $3771. San Diego has 49% renters, with 5% of houses sitting vacant. The median gross rent is $1209 and there's currently a 9.6% vacancy rate. The People Around 50% are married, and 10% divorced. 22% are married with kids, while 8% are single with kids. Approximately 49% of residents consider themselves white non-hispanic, 25% hispanic, 12% other, 8% black and 6% Filipino. Of the 26% foreign born residents, most come from Mexico, the Phillipines or Vietnam. Around 32% have at least a bachelor's degree from college and 10% have at least a graduate degree. The Houses Houses here are newer than most of California, with the largest group built in the 1970s, the next largest in the 1980s and the third largest in the 1960s. 62% of homes are single family houses and 32% are condos.
